Appeal Ear

Leo, the Doer

Leo (or Lea) hears appeals – to-dos – and acts quickly, but talks little (more reactive). In every statement he hears mostly: what am I supposed to do now?

"Okay, I'm on it."

Play recommendations

  • Consistently interpret statements as calls to action.
  • Assume hidden appeals.
  • React with agreement, refusal or a counter-appeal.
  • Ask about responsibility, ownership and consequences.
  • Withdraw when the talking takes over.
Two reaction modes

Open appeals: answered directly.

Hidden appeals: exposed or deflected.

👉 Rule of thumb: Appeal before relationship, self-revelation and content.
Risk

Suspicion of being used, defensiveness, constant stress – everything feels like a demand.

Body language

  • Body tension, slightly leaning forward.
  • Alert gaze, scanning or sizing up.
  • Short, decisive movements.
  • Visible readiness to act on appeals — or to slip away.
  • Seek physical proximity to things or people connected to the task.

Signature lines

  • "Do you want me to do that now?"
  • "What are you getting at?"
  • "Are you trying to brainwash us?"
  • "What exactly should I do?"
  • "That's not my responsibility."
  • "Can we get moving already?"
